Explorer Post 989 is a member of the West Central Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America. We are a group of Scouts and Scouters who serve on our council's summer camp staff, Sand Hill Scout Reservation. Sand Hill is located in Hernando County Florida, 2 miles east of Weeki Wachee on State Road 50. It is the purpose of Explorer Post 989 to promote Sand Hill summer camp, as well as to provide fellowship and training between Sand Hill Staff members throughout the year. During the year, we gather often to discuss plans for the upcoming camping season and its promotion, commune in a spirit of fellowship, and provide service to Sand Hill Scout Reservation. At the end of the 1998 Sand Hill Summer Camp season, Post 989 will embark on an adventure up north on the Appalachain Trail to celebrate what is sure to be yet another record-breaking summer.
